Leed®

A voluntary program that provides an approach to design, construct, manage and evaluate high energy performance buildings.

The modular house Énergéco LEED® consists of several closed modules, the number varying according to the size of the desired house. The Énergéco modules are 100% developed in the factory and each module is complete in himself. These can also be developed and delivered according to your finishing needs, for example, without joint draft, paint, flooring, installation of kitchen furniture and bathrooms. If you prefer not having to perform these tasks, you can also ask the manufacturer to take care of it for you.

Once the modules are completed as you wish, they are transported to the ground and deposited on the foundations. Thereafter, the contractor works to join and seal all parts and perform some work, including the plumbing and electrical connection. You then have the opportunity complete the work yourself, if that was your choice..

Put in context: The importance of acting
Buildings produce up to 35% of all greenhouse gases. There is 35% of landfill waste from construction and demolition activities and 80% of total water use occurs in and around buildings. Thus, making the buildings more greens is a major asset that has a significant impact on the achievement of environmental objectives on a larger scale.

LEED® for homes
Buying a new home is an exhilarating but sometimes stressful experience. Fortunately, buying a LEED® certified home by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) can help you get customized options to create a healthier, more comfortable environment that consumes less water, energy and natural resources.

Imagine the pleasure of moving into a brand-new home designed to provide better indoor air quality and save you money on water and energy costs while knowing that it respects your home environment. That's what LEED® certification offers. This assumes a flexible approach, complete design and housing construction.  So, you will have the assurance that your home will show the expected performances and that it will respect many and rigorous environmental standards. LEED® certified homes are verified by a third party and backed by years of proven results.

What is LEED®?
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) is an assessment system recognized as the international mark of excellence for sustainable buildings in more than 132 countries. Since 2002, the Canada Green Building Council (CBDCa) and LEED® Canada have helped to redefine buildings and sustainable communities across the country. The LEED® system works well because it recognizes that sustainability must be at the heart of all buildings in their design, construction and operation. This program, designed as a building classification tool, comprises 5 categories of criteria:  the ecological development of the sites, energy and effective water management, resource energy and atmosphere, the materials, the resources and quality of indoor environments. In addition, the third-party evaluation system of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED®  is an international reference for the design, construction and operation of high-performance sustainable buildings. Finally, integrating ecological practices and techniques that go beyond construction standards the building accumulates points. The more points accumulated, the more the project can exceed the certified level and thus obtain the Silver, Gold or Platinum level.

Why do homeowners choose LEED®?

famille

HEALTH
LEED® homes are healthy homes.  They contain fewer allergens and elements that trigger asthma attacks and reactions to chemicals.

confort

coMfort
The LEED® homes are carefully designed to provide comfortable indoor living spaces at all times.

économies

Cost savings
Ecological measures adopted for the construction of LEED® homes reduce monthly water and energy costs.

valeur de revente

Greater resale value

Market statistics reveal that green and efficient buildings are selling at a higher price and faster.

The final exam is necessary to obtain the overall LEED® certification.

Upon completion of the final project review and the conclusion of the LEED® advisor, the owner will receive an e-mail from the CBDCa congratulating them and asking them to confirm the certification and final project name. Only after receiving this confirmation will the project be deemed certified.

CSA Standard A277-16
Certification procedure buildings for modules

1.1 This standard specifies the procedure for certification of prefabricated buildings and partially or fully enclosed modules and panels for buildings in all occupancies.

Standards CSA A277-16 provides requirements for:

  • a) Certification of the quality program of the factory
  • b) Certification of prefabricated product
  • c) Verification of the quality program of the factory
  • d) Factory inspection of the prefabricated product

NOTES
1) This standard applies to prefabricated buildings, modules and panels constructed of any materials.

2) This standard applies to buildings of all occupations. Use is limited only by the manufacturer's certification list and the capabilities of the certification body.

1.2 This standard does not cover parts of buildings or services that are not completed at the factory. It does not concern the transport of buildings or their assembly on the site, except in the cases provided for in article 7.5.1.

Buildings, modules and prefabricated panels must be designed to resisting or withstand the loads and stresses imposed during transport and during placement. The charges and constraints imposed in transit will depend in part on the mode of transport accepted by the transport authority.

1.3 In this standard, three important terms are used. The word "must" is used to express a requirement, that is to say, a provision that the user is required to meet to comply with the standard..

The word "should" is used to express a recommendation or what is advised but not required. Finally, the word "may" is used to express an option or that which is admissible within the limits of the standard.

The accompanying notes not include requirements or requirements alternatives. The purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate the text from the explanatory or informative material.

Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements. The annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.
